Theatre NDG presents Alison’s House

Theatre NDG presents a play directed by Ryan Madden April 27-29, May 4-6 2017 at the Loyola Chapel in NDG. Based on the life of Emily Dickinson.

The play is set on New Year’s Eve 1899 in the Midwest of the USA, in the home of a famous poet, Alison Stanhope, who has been dead for 18 years. Now the family is getting ready to sell the place, hoping that none of the family’s secrets will be revealed.

I had the privilege of being invited to photograph an open dress rehearsal for Alison’s House. What a great opportunity…no audience to worry about disturbing, freedom to shoot from the stage, freedom to shoot with flash. In editing, I went for a more cinematic type film, almost as if the images were screen grabs from film footage.
